This is a celebration of life's complications and love, and of the unpredictability that takes on all-important meaning. We follow Will (Oscar Isaac) and Abby (Olivia Wilde) as they fall in love in college, get married, and prepare to welcome their first child into the world. Their life story is intertwined with that of Dylan (Olivia Cooke), a troubled young woman searching for a way out of her pain; Irwin (Mandy Patinkin), who must raise his grandson in an uncertain world; and Mr. Saccione (Antonio Banderas), a wealthy plantation owner in Spain; his employee Javier; and his family, his wife Isabelle; and his son Rodrigo. Set in the crowded streets of Manhattan and the sunny olive groves of Spain, Life Itself questions our notions of happiness and misfortune, of triumph and tragedy, and ultimately, of life itself.
