"Is This Thing On?" is a comedy-drama following a stand-up comedian in the midst of a personal crisis. The film is directed by Bradley Cooper.
A story about love, responsibility, and self-discovery during a time of major change.
In "Is This Thing On?", we meet Alex and Tess Novak, a married couple whose relationship is slowly drifting apart as they both face significant life choices. Alex attempts to find new meaning on the New York stand-up scene, while Tess reflects on the sacrifices she has made for her family. Amidst a looming divorce, they try to navigate co-parenting and the changes accompanying their new identities. The film explores how love and responsibility can evolve into something entirely different.
Bradley Cooper—known for directing and starring in "A Star Is Born" and "Maestro"—also appears in the film, though the lead roles of Alex and Tess are played by Will Arnett and Laura Dern. The screenplay was co-written by Cooper, Arnett, and Mark Chappell.
