Coppola once again collaborates with novelist Mario Puzo to craft two interwoven stories that serve as both a prequel and a sequel to the original.

One part of the story explores the Sicilian roots and life in New York of the young Don Vito—brilliantly portrayed by Robert De Niro, who won an Oscar® for Best Supporting Actor. The other part depicts Michael’s (Al Pacino) rise to become the new Don. Coppola reunited many of the actors from the original The Godfather™ to create a grand, visionary film. In 1974, the film received eleven Oscar® nominations and won six awards, including Best Picture.

The Godfather Part III:

In this film, Michael has two goals: to legitimize the family business and to find a successor. That successor could be his nephew Vincent... who threatens to turn Michael’s dream of respectability and honor into a bloody inferno.
